Web App
A web application is an application in which all or some parts of the software are downloaded from a server (in Internet or Intranet networks) each time it is run. Best examples of web-applications are web-emails, web calendars (like google calendar) ecc.
The popularity of web-applications is increasing day by day due to several reasons:
- all you need is a compatible web browser. No potentially thousands of installation on each computer.
- no disk spaces is needed on the client. - totally cross platform compatible (windows, linux, macintosh)
- all the updates are implemented on the server side and automatically extended to all the users who have access.
- the costs of development, maintenance, data storage and back-up are dramatically lower than the older approach of application installed on each client locally.
A Web Apart approach starts detecting weak points in your business process (I.E. communications among your employees, divisions or branches, documents' life-cycle, customers relationship management, data analysis ecc).
The Programming Analysis and the ensuing development process start only when both A Web Apart and the customer are aware of the goals and what we have to do to achieve them.
