Information Architecture
Information architecture (also known as IA) is one the foundations of a great Web design. Is the first thing a designer have to think about, when designing a site.
It starts with the analysis and design of the data and the contents of your website / applications, categorizing them into a coherent, well organized and quickly understandable structure.
A right use of IA process can allow a company to save both time and money in the long run, and can improve the user interaction with applications. It involves all the activities: Design, Development, database development, writing contents and marketing.
A Web Apart, in order to achieve a well designed IA, begins with asking customers some questions like:
- Which are the site's goals?
- What is the company's mission?
- Define the audience.
- Define your contents and functional requirements.
- and more.
These questions help us to start with the creative and development process, to organize your contents in order to make them well readable for your audience and last but not least, for the search engines.
